Shakhbout bin Nahyan wins Holland International Show jumping championship

Holland - Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan has won the "Valkensward" Show jumping Championship which ended here Wednesday. Forty five contestants from various parts of the world participated in the championship.

In a statement, Sheikh Shakhbout expressed profound gratitude to President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Chairman of the UAE Equestrian Association, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their unstinting support to equestrian sport in the country, which led to a number of international achievements.

He said he is now preparing for other championships in France, adding that the UAE's participation in the Beijing Olympic Games will be a special one in the show jumping and other sports. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
