Sharjah Charity Association said it had distributed infant formula to 120000 Somali children as part of its "Help Them" humanitarian campaign to assist Somalia and other countries in the Horn of Africa region. Ten thousand boxes of the formula prescribed for children under 6 months were given out through 40 health centres in six Somali governorates.

The campaign was launched in summer last year by H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah last year to contribute to fight hunger and drought. The Association's delegation to Somalia also inspected progress at its projects which include water wells and a bakery in Mogadishu to provide bread to 500 families, according to Sultan Bin Butti Al-Muhairi, the deputy director general of the Association. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
