London - His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has visited The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Upon arrival at the head office, Sheikh Sultan was received by the President of RCS John Black and Vice-Presidents Professor John K Stanley and Richard E C Collins and a number of UK senior surgeons. Sheikh Sultan is accompanied by Dr. Amr Abul Hameed, Higher Education Advisor to the Ruler of Sharjah and Dr Sami Mahmoud and Chancellor of Sharjah University.
Presentations were given by 3 medical researchers in presence of Sheikh Sultan. He later visited RCS Museum. Sheikh Sultan later held talks on cooperation between RCS and Sharjah University. Cooperation would cover joint research, training and exchange of faculty.
In May 2010, RCS awarded Sheikh Sultan the "Honorary Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of England", in recognition of His Highness' outstanding contributions to the profession. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
