The Sharjah Charity Organisation (SCO) is all set to send urgent relief to people made homeless by recent events in the Sudanese state of Darfur. The campaign also aims at helping the displaced settle in some areas of the North Darfur region in western Sudan. SCO Secretary General Abdulla Mubarak Al Dukhan said his agency is busy raising funds for the Darfur relief campaign. "We are supposed to send sufficient foodstuffs to relieve over 1,000 families in the strife-torn region as well as drill a number of wells to ensure permanent water supplies to the victims there and help them settle in," said Dukhan.
