Sharjah's initiative entitled 'Peace on you little ones' aimed at helping Palestinian children has signed two cooperation agreements to provide children in Ramallah with healthcare and recreational services.

The initiative was launched as per directives from the wife of UAE Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and Chairperson of Supreme Council for Family Affairs Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi.

The first agreement was signed with St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem while the second agreement was signed with the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA).

The agreement signed with St John Hospital will pave way for protecting the eyesight of over ten thousand Palestinian children through preventive and surgical intervention.

The agreement signed with YWCA aims to provide recreational and sports facilities for over 5000 children.

The signing of the two agreements marks the beginning of the second phase of the initiative. The first phase implemented at a cost of Dh 7mn saw healthcare services and nutritional programmes that covered over 190,000 Palestinian children in Gaza and West bank. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
