The Chairman of the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, H.H. Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is to make a triumphant return to the Polo arena, it was officially announced by a Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club spokeperson.

The comeback marks a 10 year gap since H.H. Sheikh Falah last participated in the UAE Polo Cup as he plays for the ADCB team when they square off against St. Regis at Pink Polo 2013 on the 8th of November, a family-day event that promotes breast cancer awareness alongside raising funds for outreach programmes.

On the occasion of his comeback, Sheikh Falah said, "This sport is very close to my heart. I have very fond memories on the field, having played with some of the most outstanding players in the world. I am excited to return to the sport after such a long break, although this has given me ample time to undergo rigorous training and practice sessions with my fellow ADCB team members. Polo fans can be assured that this match will be a very heated one, and I speak on behalf of the other players when I say that the St. Regis team will have much to watch out for!" He added, "Besides the competition element of the match, the Pink Polo event will endorse breast cancer awareness, a cause that is very dear to me. The Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club has always been a supporter of such noble causes, and will continue to do so for many years to come." ADCB team member Oscar Colombres expressed his eagerness and anticipation to play alongside H.H. Sheikh Falah, saying, "There is no doubt that His Highness will be the star attraction of this year's season. It is a great privilege for us to have him play his comeback match as part of the ADCB team. The sport has missed him tremendously, and we all look forward to having him back in the arena." The Pink Polo match will be the first to kick off the UAE Polo Cup season at the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, with the two teams playing the goodwill match as a show of solidarity and support for breast cancer awareness throughout the country.

The season is set to continue with many high octane events such as the Ghantoot Show Jumping Gold Cup, the UAE National Day Polo Exhibition Day, HCT Family Polo Day, and show jumping, before matches between teams participating in the H.H President Of U.A.E. Polo Cup tournament, and then on to the British Polo Day and the Emirates Open Polo Cup. The schedule commences from the first week of November and continues until April 2014.

Pink Polo is presented by ADCB and organised by Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, who share a long-term relationship and collaborate regularly to establish grand-scale polo events in the U.A.E.. The event is scheduled to take place on the 8th of November 2013 at 5 pm, with free admission to the general public. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
