H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak has expressed her wishes for quick recovery to the wounded victims of earthquake in Pakistan, who are being treated in UAE hospitals. In a message conveyed to the patients by a delegation of women leaders, Sheikha Fatima also condoled the patients on the loss of their loved ones in the devastating earthquake that claimed the lives of over 53,000 Pakistanis.

The delegation which was headed by Sanaa Darwish Al Qitbi, Secretary General of the UAE Red Crescent Society, visited the patients at Mafraq and Zayed Military Hospitals on Saturday on the directives of H.H Sheikh Fatima.

"The patients are under the care and hospitality of the UAE people and will continue to be taken care of until they fully recover”, the delegation quoted Sheikha Fatima Fatima as saying in her message.

"The support that is being provided by the UAE to Asian countries hit by the earthquake is part of its commitment to fellow brethren in humanity”, said Sheikha Fatima. She also praised the services provided by UAE hospitals to the wounded.

Amna Omeir bin Yousef, Director of the Abu Dhabi Women Association said the visit of the women delegation to the patients underscores the keenness of the UAE Government and people to reach out to the quake victims and alleviate their suffering.

"We will form a committee to follow up the situation of the patient and attend to their needs”, she said. "This visit was made on the directives of H.H Sheikha Fatima. Her keenness to see that the wounded are taken care of stems from her strong commitment to humanitarian problems across the globe”, said Qitbi.

She added that the delegation will report to Sheikha Fatima on the findings of the visit. For their part, the patients expressed gratitude to the UAE Government and people for their generous assistance to treat them in UAE hospitals.
