H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU) '&' of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, opened yesterday at the head office of GWU in Abu Dhabi the 'Our Hearts With The People Of Syria', a two-day charity fundraiser to raise donations for Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries. The campaign is being organised by the GWU, in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent Authority and the Arab Diplomatic Group.

Sheikha Fatima said the two-day event is a continuation of the campaign launched last year under the same name by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had instilled noble values of giving. These values are being pursued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who supports and responds to all calls for humanitarian support," she said.

Sheikha Fatima urged citizens and philanthropists to join the campaign and to extend helping hands to the Syrian refugees. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
