Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Honorary Chairwoman of the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has instructed RCS delegation currently in Pakistan to conduct a field study on the impact of the recent earthquake on children.

Sheikha Fatima also ordered the delegation to assess the needs of children in terms of social and health services in addition to the general living conditions. She further expressed her concern about the appalling conditions that ensued in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit Pakistan, adding that measures should be taken to alleviate the suffering of children in cooperation with relevant authorities.

RCS Secretary General Sanaa Darwish Al Qitbi said the charity body began implementing Sheikha Fatima's instructions in conjunction with other organizations, notably UNICEF. "The instructions of H.H Sheikha Fatima came at the right as they highlight the plight of children who have been among the most affected by the devastating earthquake", she said.
