Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, has said that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, were behind the tremendous achievements attained by the UAE in the humanitarian area.

She cited the directives of the leadership to provide all forms of support to the needy worldwide, in line with the course outlined by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE.

Sheikha Lubna was addressing the Ramadan two-day gatherings for donor and charity bodies held by the Ministry in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The UAE minister told the donors that the ranking of the UAE as 16th worldwide in provision of humanitarian aid last year "Motivates us to exert more efforts in the international humanitarian and development areas. This status would have not been achieved without your positive response." - Emirates News Agency, WAM
