Sheikha Lubna discusses cooperation with Pakistani delegation

Economy minister H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi received yesterday a business delegation from Pakistan, headed by Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, president of Pakistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Sheikha Lubna welcomed the delegation and referred to Pakistan's vast expertise in services sector which included IT, medical services and other technologies that can be exported to UAE besides exporting merchandises.

She discussed with the delegation members ways to enhance economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries and opportunities to tap on the knowledge-based economy.

Sheikha Lubna urged Pakistani businesses to benefit from the ideal investment climate offered by the UAE.

She also stressed the importance of signing an FTA between Pakistan and the GCC countries.

The two -way non oil trade between the UAE and Pakistan saw a remarkable growth, reaching AED 5.9 billion in 2007. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
