Abu Dhabi is all set to celebrate the 37th Accession Day Anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as the Ruler of the Emirate. Several organisations have already chalked out colourful programmes to mark the day today. The General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police will participate in a book exhibition and other activities being organised by the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.

Abu Dhabi Police will also screen a documentary at the Cultural Foundation on the achievements in security and law and order. The other programmes at the foundation include national folkloric dance and songs. Special events for children will also be held at the foundation to mark the day.

Similar folklore programmes will also be organised by the Emirates Heritage Club. The main venue of the celebrations will be Heritage Village at the Breakwater. The programmes include children's show, traditional sea sports, fireworks on the Corniche and concerts by renowned Arab singers and musicians. The shows also include a quiz competition on UAE's history and tradition.

The Club will host a poetry session attended by poets from across the country. Several expatriate communities have planned similar programmes. Such groups will gather at the Corniche, performing tradition dances and reciting songs in praise of Sheikh Zayed. School children in traditional attire will also march along the Corniche as part of the celebrations.
