Thanks to the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the United Arab Emirates has taken giant strides towards excellence and pioneering, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces stated.

In a statement following the announcement of the establishment of the UAE Soft Power Council, Sheikh Mohamed described the council as a "profound vision for capitalising on our achievements while reaching out to the nations of the world."

"We are all ambassadors for the UAE, and we must double our efforts to maintain the image of our country and to promote our unique approach, values and aspirations, "he added.

Last week, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched the UAE Soft Power Council, which will define a comprehensive strategy to reinforce the country's position and consolidate its values of respect and appreciation with governments and citizens across the world.

The council reports directly to the UAE Cabinet and will introduce an integrated national strategy that consolidates the roles of both the public and private sectors in achieving soft power, and conveying the nation's history in a new way. The council will also develop a soft power strategy for the state, including in the science, culture, technology, humanitarian and economic sectors, to establish relationships at the grassroots level with partners both in the Arab region and the world.
