Assilah - Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos got a first-hand insight into the rich and diversified cultural, intellectual and heritage movement in the UAE when he visited the UAE book exhibition staged as part of the UAE participation in the 32nd Assilah International Cultural Festival in Morocco.

The Spanish foreign minister praised the cultural and artistic events staged in the Festival by the UAE which was welcomed in this year's edition as the Official Guest of Honour for the festival, which runs from July 10th to July 27th.

The organisers of the Assilah festival chose the United Arab Emirates as guest of honour this year because of the prominent position that the country enjoys in the Arab region and throughout the world in promoting the development process by the most effective means, which is through culture, heritage and the arts. â€" Emirates News Agency, WAM
