Spirit of the Union key at parade

An ambience of festivity will underline the Spirit of the Union, at The Parade Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day the annual celebration organised by Emaar Properties to mark the 42nd UAE National Day, on Sunday.

Open to residents and visitors, The Parade Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm on the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, the glorious thoroughfare that encircles The Centre of Now.

Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director, Emaar Properties PJSC, said, "This year's parade at Downtown Dubai is a sterling tribute by Emaar to the strong evolution of the United Arab Emirates under the guidance of our leadership.

"The UAE is taking strong strides to achieve its Vision 2020 to be among the best nations in the world, and has already established its clear credentials as a global hub for business and leisure. The Parade Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day will once again celebrate the UAE's path-breaking achievements and its rich cultural heritage.”

Celebrations galore

A vibrant celebration with colourful displays, visitors to The Parade Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day can gain strong insights into the UAE's heritage and modernity through themed floats, several dance performances, novelty balloons, camel and horse parades, and musical acts.

Underlining the cosmopolitan outlook of Dubai, which is home to over 200 nationalities, cultural groups representing different communities will take part in the event.

Local and international schools, government entities, international brands, philanthropic organisations, bikers and sports clubs and children mascots will also join the parade, underlining the solidarity that is synonymous with the National Day celebrations.

Visitors can revel in a special display by the Lotus F1 Team, with a show car on a dedicated float, highlighting Emaar's support as the team's official partner. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
