Watani Al Emarat Foundation has announced the completion of preparations for the celebration of Emirati Flag Day on Nov. 3. This initiative was adopted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as an occasion to promote the culture of treating the flag as a symbol of the homeland, which can reinforce people's sense of belonging.

The occasion coincides with the day when the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, came to power.

Dhirar Balhoul Al Falasi, Director General of the Foundation, said that the initiative reinforces a set of values, the top of which is national unity. The celebration would include many activities which reinforce the spirit of belonging and commemorates the principles upon which the union was founded.

Falasi added that Flag Day represents a cohesion which supersedes individual interests for those of the general public. The celebration will include all people from all walks of life.

Falasi pointed out that Watani Al Emarat Foundation would launch local products aimed at reinforcing people's feeling of identification with the nation. The products which will have the print of Watani Al Emarat will be available at select stores and pavilions. – The Gulf Today
