The State Audit Institution (SAI) has announced the launch of its official website in both Arabic and English languages.

Dr. Harib Al Amimi, SAI president, launched the new website which aims at reinforcing the channels of communication and cooperation with the various segments of society to raise public awareness of the SAI mission and core values, as well as highlighting the role played by the SAI in safeguarding of public funds.

"The Website reflecting our vision of improving accountability, governance standards and performance in the UAE Federal government and of keeping all concerned parties properly informed about the latest developments", said Dr. Harib and added "A lot is happening at the SAI and the UAE will notice our work more as the modernization program is progressively implemented." The new website incorporates latest technology and some interactive features. Reports, publications and best practice guides can be downloaded.

Moreover, members of the public can also report suspected fraud online by going to the website. This service allows concerned individuals to report suspicious activity while also ensuring the process is handled discreetly and responsibly. The goal of Report Fraud is improved levels of governance and enhanced credibility for federal organisations.

People can also apply online for a job with SAI. As part of its modernization program, the SAI needs to recruit more auditors and other professionals. UAE Nationals make up more than 40 per cent of the SAI's 200-strong workforce.

It is also recruiting UAE National graduates to be fast-tracked to management careers in audit. The SAI offers a mix of on-the-job training and classroom training that leads to professional accountancy qualifications such as ACCA or CPA. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
