Strengthening cooperation between municipal system in Abu Dhabi and Queensland

Majed Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) has received Campbel Newman, President of the Australian State of Queensland Government who is leading a high-level delegation of the Queensland Government on a visit to the UAE.
The meeting which was attended by Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al -Shareef, the Undersecretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs, and the Executive Directors of different sectors in the DMA, discussed ways of strengthening cooperation between the municipal system and various governmental entities in the state of Queensland particularly in the municipal services field and infrastructure projects.
During the meeting, the Australian delegation viewed a number of projects carried out by the municipal system in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, particularly those related to the municipal services sector and infrastructure development, where the two sides discussed prospects of enhancing cooperation in this area.
The Chairman of the DMA, said, "The infrastructure projects being implemented by the municipal system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi provide many opportunities for cooperation with relevant bodies in the state of Queensland which is well known for its first class municipal services." The President of the Australian State of Queensland Government praised the comprehensive development process witnessed in the UAE in general and in Abu Dhabi in particular, stressing the keenness of the state of Queensland to strengthen relations and expand aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of municipal work to keep pace with the excellent progress in the bilateral relations between the UAE and Australia in various fields. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
