The Information Affairs Office of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister has published a book documenting the tour of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Syria, Algeria, and France. The book gives prominence to the close relations between the United Arab Emirates and these countries in all fields.

H.H. President met, during this tour, which took place on July 15-22, 2007, Syrian President, Bashar Al Assad, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The book asserts that the tour of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was an appreciation for the spirit of understanding and close relations between the United Arab Emirates and these three countries-Syria, Algeria, and France.

It says that the visit added a new momentum and strength to the track of these relations, which translated the real will of His Highness to promote communication, contact, and consultation with these countries in the issues of common interests, at the regional and international arenas, in order to build the edifice of peace and passion everywhere in the world.

The book notes that the tour of President Khalifa and his meetings with these leaders confirmed the pivotal role the UAE President plays in consolidating the approach adopted by the country in forming its international relations with the different nations of the world, on the basis of common values and legitimate interests.

The books displays Sheikh Khalifa's statements in which he affirmed that his meetings in Syria, Algeria, and France were aimed at continuing efforts to strengthen the county's bilateral relations with these countries in all fields, as well as discussing the current regional and international issues. Sheikh Khalifa expressed great satisfaction on the level with which these relations have been developed in economic, commercial, and cultural fields, especially because the United Arab Emirates has been, since decades, engaged in close and intimate relations with these three countries.

It indicates that friendship and mutual respect contributed to promoting bilateral relations in all fields, something that requires continuing visits and contacts at all levels, from leaders through ministers to experts. It is worth mentioning that the tour of the UAE President received a wide-spread media coverage, which indicates the importance of this tour, the book says. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
