A senior Sudanese official today praised his country's ties with the United Arab Emirates. Addressing a press conference here today ahead of the visit of Sudanese President Omer Al Bashir to Abu Dhabi, Dr Mustafa Osman Ismael, Sudanese Presidential Advisor said that the visit represents an important phase in the two countries' keen efforts to further bolster bilateral relations. He said that Sudan was eager to benefit from UAE's experience in all spheres, including agricultural development.

"The UAE is witnessing a huge progress in different fields, including infrastructure, telecommunications, transport and tourism," Ismael said. He revealed that the two sides will sign a number of agreements for economic, social and humanitarian cooperation. Ismael noted that his country is stable and safe for foreign investments. "There is a problem in Darfur but that region covers only 20 percent of the country. On the other hand, Sudan has made giant strides in terms of economic development and attracting foreign investments." - Emirates News Agency, WAM
