H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Emirates Heritage Club (EHC) on Saturday presented Abdul Rehman Mohammed Karam, of Warsan Stables, with the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Endurance Race Cup upon winning the nine-leg 240 km race over 3 days.
Karam won a modern 4x4 vehicle presented by the main sponsor of the event.
Sheikh Sultan also presented Mohammed Kafeel al-Khaili with the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Endurance Race Cup upon winning the 100 km Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Endurance Race for privately owned horses.
Abdullah Meftah al-Shamsi of Warsan Stables was also declared winner of the 100 km race for juniors and was presented with the prize.
Sheikh Sultan, in press statements, said there are plans to further introduce more heritage functions to the Festival.
Other plans, he added, are in place to train a large number of UAE jockey's at Bou Theib Endurance Village in Abu Dhabi and the UAE Equestrian '&' Racing Federation.
Prizes of the 5 races of the 3-day festival which attracted 250 male and female participants totaled Dh 1 million. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
