His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah on Thursday attended a ceremony to celebrate signing of a sister city agreement between Sharjah and the Spanish city of Granada.
The agreement was signed by Yousif Al Qasir, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council and Jose Ortado, Mayor of Granada.
The agreement aims at strengthening bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two cities. It also provides for high level participation in the events organised by either city, as well as the potential for developing joint initiatives, programmes and projects.
According to the agreement, the two cities will work towards coordinating and exchanging information about development projects and steps to support business and job opportunities, and encouraging joint ventures between private businesses in the two cities.
