Dushanbe - Tajik President Imomali Rakhmonov has expressed his country's commitment to further boost bilateral ties with the UAE. He said the unique relations between the UAE and Tajikistan stemmed from cooperation and solidarity among Islamic nations as advocated by Islam, adding that the great bilateral ties between the two countries had led to creating more development and investment opportunities.

President Rakhmonov made the remark when he received UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed Hussein Al Sha'ali at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday. Al Sha'ali conveyed to him greetings and well-wishes from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

President Rakhmonov, who wished the UAE minister and his accompanying delegation a successful visit to Tajikistan, also conveyed his reciprocal greetings and wishes to Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed and the UAE people, wishing the UAE more progress and prosperity.

He praised the UAE for achieving great development in all sectors. He said such achievement is a source of pride, not only for the UAE and its people, but also for the people of Tajikistan. He expressed his country's desire to benefit from the UAE's experience. He said his visit to the UAE last April was very fruitful, particularly his talks with President Khalifa which, he said, gave a major push forward to bilateral ties between the two countries. Al Sha'ali expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage. He said the UAE welcomes any successful investment opportunity that would be offered by Tajikistan, adding that the private sector plays a very vital role in the civil and construction development that the UAE is currently witnessing. The minister later held a press conference during which he briefed the press about his meeting with the Tajik president and highlighted the economic and investment opportunities in the two countries which, he said, they can tap for their mutual benefit. Al Sha'ali also met the Tajik Prime Minister Akil Akilov and reviewed with him investment opportunities and other potential economic and tourism ventures in Tajikistan. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
