Tawazun Precision Industries (TPI), a Tawazun Holding subsidiary specialised in the manufacture of metallic components for Aerospace/ Aviation, Defence, and Oil '&' Gas industries, signed a major contract with Dassault Aviation for manufacturing of various components for the Falcon 7X aircraft.

The agreement was signed at Tawazun Pavilion during the Dubai International Airshow 2011 Exhibition by Mutasim Awda CEO of Tawazun Precision Industries, and Didie Bonnefoy, Senior Vice President of Dassault's Aviation.

The signing ceremony was attended by Hamad Al Neyadi, Chief Strategy Officer in the Tawazun Holding, and Eric Trapier Director General of Dassault Aviation and a number of officials from the two sides.

This contract reflects the competitiveness and the high level of skill already achieved by TPI being in the Aerospace business over this past year. TPI, which was incorporated in 2007, is the Tawazun's subsidiary dedicated to high precision machining. TPI entered the Aerospace market last year as part of its development and diversification vision. With the support of different European and American partners, TPI has already acquired Aerospace world class capabilities including manufacturing engineering, supply chain management, and various production capabilities for complex metallic parts for aircraft.

This contract signed between Dassault Aviation and TPI sets the framework for business collaboration between both parties on the arena of aero-structures manufacturing and subassemblies. The first step grants TPI with complex machined parts for the Falcon 7X business jet and will be rapidly followed by others on various programs including civilian and military for a global potential value of USD 21MM. The delivery of the first ship-set to the Dassault Aviation assembly line is planned for mid 2012. This contract will involve the most recent equipment and software acquired by TPI for the Aerospace business such as the latest 5-Axis high speed cutting machines (up to 30 000 RPM) with up to 5 meter.

The contract, acquired by TPI on a competitive basis is yet another proof that TPI is now recognised as a reliable world class Aerospace supplier, able to provide real value and a competitive edge to global aerospace customers.

This achievement takes TPI one step further in its strategy to become a world class Aerospace partner providing real differentiation to its customers, serving the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 through diversification in a competitive market, and contributing to fast economic growth of the Emirate. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
