The Khalifa Charity Foundation distributes relief aid at the Haitian borders

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - The Khalifa Charity Foundation delivered in Dominican Republic humanitarian relief aid to Good Samaritan Hospital and orphanage at the borders of Haiti . The relief shipment included food and medical stuff. This comes in the context of continuous efforts to support the displaced and victims of the earthquake.

The humanitarian aid was transported from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic to the orphanage to support the Haitian sick people and displaced.

The Delegation of the Foundation in the Dominican Republic said that they cooperated with the Dominican government and the Haitian Embassy there to distribute 77 tons of human relief, which consists of medical materials and food stuff.

They added that they provided medical aid to hospitals and health centres near the western borders of Republic of Haiti in the presence of the Dominican Minister of Health Julius Timothy.

The delegation emphasised that the convoys of trucks loaded with over 500 tons of humanitarian aid would start today from the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince from the Dominican Republic by road to the Republic of Haiti as an implementation of the second phase.

Earlier President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered offering of the humanitarian aid programme to the Haitian People to ease suffering of the victims there. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
