Thuraya, the world leader in satellite handheld telephony, is launching a new and convenient recharging service for pre-paid Thuraya phone users.
Branded ThurayaRecharge, the new service allows subscribers to instantly top up their accounts by phone or online. Available as of this week, ThurayaRecharge eases the current recharging system that requires the use of a scratch card, E-Voucher or contacting a Thuraya Service Provider that is sometimes not possible when users are in remote locations or are out of credit.
ThurayaRecharge is provided in partnership with FoneRecharge, a company based in Australia. In order to benefit from this new service, Thuraya pre-paid subscribers should first register on FoneRecharge's website. After that customers can purchase air time while using their personal credit card, by making a phone call to a toll-free number. Both methods allow instant access to credit and reduce the need to find an outlet for physical scratch cards or the E-Voucher.
"ThurayaRecharge is a streamlined service that is so simple to use, and so appropriate for our voice users, especially those who are located in the remotest of areas. Customers now are guaranteed air time at all times making Thuraya the ideal communication solution because they have access to vast coverage, an extremely advanced telephone and constant capacity for communication," said Thuraya's CCO Dr. Sven Rohte.
He also added that since the majority of Thuraya phone users are pre-paid customers, ThurayaRecharge will be a highly demanded service.
