Abdulkadir Aksu, visiting Turkish Minister of Interior yesterday hailed the competence of the Abu Dhabi Police, particularly their ability to employ modern technology in various policing tasks. In remarks shortly after a tour of the Capital Police premises in Abu Dhabi, Aksu said: "Turkey is looking forward to cooperating with the UAE in the areas of combating organised crimes, drug-related crimes in addition to other areas. We look forward to utilising the technological and scientific innovations being employed by the Abu Dhabi police".

Among various departments toured by the minister were the central electronic network, electronic club, electronic archive and eye-scanning unit. Eye-scanning technology is an innovative technology used by the UAE in entry points to check deported persons trying to re-enter the country illegally. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
