Turkmenistan President meets representatives of local companies

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov held yesterday a series of meetings with executives of local companies in his residency at the Emirates Palace.

First, the Turkmen welcomed a high-level delegation from the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) led by Saeed Al Muhairbi, Manager of Projects, who briefed him IPIC portfolio of investment and projects in oil and gas exploration and production.

Al Muhairbi said that the meeting also discussed IPIC's vision for foraying into the Turkmen markets and cooperation with companies there for launching joint projects on exploration and development of natural gas.

He said IPIC is interested in processing natural gas in Turkmenistan and has firm desire to boost joint investment for the better.

The president of Turkmenistan also received Maroun Semaan, Chief Operating Officer at Petrofac, a UAE leading provider of facilities solutions to the oil industry.

Semaan thanked the government of Turkmenistan for its substantial support for Petrofac's engagement in South Yoloten gas field.

Petrofac is one of major contractors of the US$9.7 billion gas development. Petrofac will conduct a front end engineering and design study for the project together with initial planning and set-up studies.

He said Petrofac would partner with Turkmengas, the state-owned national gas company of Turkmenistan, to train engineers and technicians who will execute the project.

According to him, Petrofac will use its extensive experience to carry out its part of the contract at bar with the best international standards.

Finally, the head of state of Turkmenistan received Matthew Hollis, Project Manager, Nama Development Enterprises who affirmed his company's desire to forge strategic partnership with Turkmen companies for establishing joint industrial, economic and tourist ventures. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
