The UAE and Armenia yesterday signed seven co-operative agreements, covering various areas including extradition of criminals wanted by both countries. The first of these agreements provides for the extradition of criminals convicted in any of the two countries and are known to be present in the territories of the other. The extradition treaty stipulated the conditions under which criminals should be extradited.

The second of the agreements, which were signed on behalf of the UAE by Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Abdullah, and on behalf of the Republic of Armenia by Vartan Oskanian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also provide for wide ranging mutual legal assistance on criminal matters. Other areas covered include cooperation on trade, technical assistance, transportation, investment and tourism. Cultural and educational aspects have also been covered by the agreements.
