Al Sharhan reiterated his country's willingness to assist Arab and Islamic countries develop technology-oriented education programmes that reconcile tradition with modernity. He briefed his Eritrean guest, who is on a visit to the country, on the UAE's vision 2020 of modern education and its effect on the educational process as well as the proposed projects.

Saleh, on his part, hailed Al Sharhan's keenness to support modern educational programmes in Eritrea. He said he had briefed him on the present condition of educational institutions in Eritrea and efforts being made to promote the Arabic language which, he noted, was the mother language of his country.
