UAE-Jordanian relations unique: Al Za'abi

Amman - The UAE Ambassador to Jordan has said that bilateral relations between his country and Jordan has reached a unique stage in all fields, including political, cultural and economic fields. In a statement he issued today, Rahma Hussein Al Za'abi said that the two countries share identical views on a number of regional and international issues, adding that relations between President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and King Abdullah II of Jordan were very unique. He pointed out that the Iftar meal and the food parcel campaigns, launched by the UAE Embassy in Amman for the second consecutive year, was aimed at providing 10,000 Iftar dinner daily to the needy, adding that the campaigns cost 900,000 Jordanian Dinars.



He explained that his Embassy distributes 5,000 meals while the remaining 5,000 are distributed by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Holy Sites Affairs, adding that the UAE Red Crescent Society distributed through the Jordanian Charity Organisation 20 tonnes of dates, in addition to medical and food-items assistance, which the RCS delivered in support of the Palestinian people. He explained that the Al Maktoum Charity Organisation of Dubai has also started distributing 5,000 Iftar meals to the needy families, adding that the organisation has also distributed at the beginning of this academic year 20,000 schoolbags to students from poor families. He further explained that the Al Maktoum Charity Organisation had embarked on charity and humanitarian works in various parts of Jordan, adding that his embassy would continue to distribute Iftar meals in the years to come.
