The UAE and Oman has signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will provide for electricity connection between some areas in the two countries. The (MoU) which was signed on behalf of the UAE by Electricity and Water Minister Humaid bin Nasser Al Owais, and on behalf of Oman by Sheikh Suhail Shamas, Minister of Housing and Electricity, will pave the way for a tie up of electricity network that will link the areas of Al Ain and Dibba from the UAE side with the areas of Al Wassit and Dibba Al Baya and other areas from the Omani side. A feasibility study will be undertaken before the implementation of the project. Each side will bear the full cost of the power connection of its own areas. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
