UAE-US review progress on FTA talks

Progress on UAE-US free trade talks, economic relations and possibility of establishing joint investment ventures were the focus of discussions yesterday between Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy, and visiting US Treasury Under Secretary for International Affairs David H. McCormick. Sheikha Lubna told her guest that current investment environment in terms of legislations and opportunities were conducive to attracting more US capital to the UAE. The US official commended the strong UAE-US relations in several fields especially the economic sectors. He stressed the importance of steadily developing bilateral relations to catch up with the vibrant growth of economies of the two friendly countries. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
