ADEN: A number of projects funded by the Emirates Red Crescent, to restore schools and government buildings, were inaugurated yesterday in the Yemeni southern governorate of Lahej.

The buildings of the education authority and a number of schools were restored using AED3 million donated by the UAE's humanitarian agency as part of its support for infrastructure and development projects in Yemen.

Waddah Al Halimi, Governor of Lahej, thanked the UAE for extending support to development in the governorate suffering widespread destruction in the current war.

Early this year, the Emirates Red Crescent signed a contract to fund a number of development projects in the governorate. http://wam.ae/en/details/1395302607767
