The UAE National Media Council launched yesterday a new website devoted to the country's participation at EXPO 2012 Yeosu, Korea and also highlighting the nation's bid to host EXPO 2020 in Dubai.

The website (http://www.expo2012uae.com) focuses on the core content of the UAE Pavilion and on the theme of EXPO 2012: Living Ocean and Coast.

The National Media Council has directed the development of the 2012 EXPO project that includes an imaginative and creative exhibition including a major new film featuring the Emirates' coast and marine life. A trailer for this film, The Turtle, together with other films showing in the pavilion can be watched on the website which also includes more general information on the UAE.

A novel and effective addition to the UAE Pavilion is extensive use of QR codes that link visitors' smart phones to the new website so that they can store information or video presentations for later study. This enables the website to act as a real-time extension of the physical exhibition, providing a much greater scope of information than would be possible in the pavilion itself. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
