Podgorica: Visiting UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansouri today discussed with Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.

The meeting reviewed agenda of the upcoming meeting of the joint economic committee.

Djukanovic said his country was looking forward to draw lessons from the UAE development model, especially in economic competitiveness and government performance efficiency. He said the UAE policy of openness and diversified economic set an example that many emerging economies would like to emulate.

Montenegro, he affirmed, was interested in building ties of friendship and cooperation, especially in economy, with the UAE.

For his part, the UAE minister said promising business opportunities available in Montenegro provide a fertile ground for establishing joint strategic economic partnership.

The two sides explored prospects of investment cooperation in areas of air transport, agriculture, tourism, industry, renewable energy, small and medium scale enterprises and free zones.

Al Mansouri stressed the importance of launching direct air flights between the two countries, saying the service would further expand economic cooperation.

He urged Montenegro to benefit from the economic and trade competitive edges of the UAE.

The UAE minister opened the Sheikh Zayed Road in the capital of Montenegro Podgorica in the presence of Mayor of Podgorica Dr. Miomir Mugosa and UAE Ambassador to Montenegro Hafsa Abdullah Al Olma.

He also attended the launch of Atlas Capital Centre, one of the UAE's largest investment projects in the Balkan region. The project demonstrates the UAE economic clout in south of Europe.
