UAE Embassy in Malaysia launches Khalifa Fund aid programme to help Rohingya refugees

KUALA LUMPUR: In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the UAE Ambassador to Malaysia, Abdullah Matar Khamis Al Mazrouei, has launched a humanitarian aid programme provided by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Rohingya refugees fleeing from Myanmar.

The programme was launched in the presence of a delegation from the foundation and representatives from non-governmental organisations in Malaysia.

An official spokesman from the foundation said that the funds are part of phase one of aid which will see food and basic supplies distributed to 4,000 refugee families and comes in the framework of charitable and humanitarian work carried out by the organisation in Malaysia and around the world. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395293446213.html
