Islamabad - The Military Field Hospital erected by the UAE Armed Forces in earthquake devastated areas in Pakistan, at the instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Thursday commenced operations in Balakot City. The UAE medical team has today received a number of victims while doctors conducted four surgeries to children and elderly people.

Brigadier Abdul Rahman, leader of the UAE Medical Team, has instructed the Team to operate around the clock and place all the ambulance vehicles in a state of emergency to transport injured victims from villages surrounding Manserah area which is located at the centre of the earthquake. He said the UAE Red Crescent would move to Balakot on Friday to survey the area and evaluate the damages, in addition to commencing provision of humanitarian assistance there.
