Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, has sent a letter to his Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki. UAE Ambassador to Iran, Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marri, delivered the letter to the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mohammed Jalal Feirouz, when the latter received him at his office yesterday.

The letter is part of the UAE efforts to galvanise support for its bid to host the headquarters of the International Agency for Renewable energy (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE Ambassador briefed the Iranian foreign ministry official on the objectives behind the UAE's bid to host the IRENA headquarters.

He presented to Feirouz similar letters from UAE Energy Minister, Mohammed bin Da'en Al-Hamili, to his Iranian counterpart, Parviz Fattah and Iranian Oil Minister, Gholam Hussein Nozari. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
