UAE President meets Pakistani Prime Minister

Rahim Yar Khan: U.A.E. President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, at the end of his private visit to Pakistan.

Sheikh Khalifa extended thanks and appreciation to the leadership, government and people of Pakistan for the warm reception that he has received, wishing continuous progress and welfare for Pakistan's government and people.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in all domains, expressing their satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and the progress made in cooperation in various areas, which is reflected in strong ties between the two friendly peoples.

Sheikh Khalifa described the relations between the U.A.E. and Pakistan as "Distinguished and Developing", and stressed the importance for the two sides to continue their role for the benefit of the mutual interest as well as bolstering understanding and cooperation.

President Khalifa emphasised U.A.E.'s keenness for continuous support to Pakistani people, which would enable them to achieve development, stability and welfare in various domains.

They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest on the regional and international arenas.

On his part, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed his thanks and appreciation for overall U.A.E. support in a number of projects in various provinces and the humanitarian assistance for Pakistan.

He also lauded Sheikh Khalifa's wisdom and leadership which enabled the U.A.E. and its people to achieve their goals drawing attention of the whole world, thanks to the unprecedented cultural development in the country, citing that the Pakistani people carries love, appreciation and pride for the Emirati leadership, government and people.

Among those who attended the meeting were H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member, Mohammed Habroush Al Suweidi, Advisor to the President, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Isa Abdullah Al Basha Al Nuaimi, a number of Sheikhs and key officials who were accompanying the UAE President.

From the Pakistani side, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and a number of senior officials in the province were present.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Khalifa left Rahim Yar Khan, after his private visit to Pakistan.

Sheikh Khalifa was seen off by Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, a number of U.A.E. citizens in Pakistan, Punjab province Chief Minister, a number of top Pakistani officials and the U.A.E. Ambassador to Pakistan. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
