UAE President mourns death of Sheikh Ahmad

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourned the death of Sheikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who died in a glider crash on Friday in Morocco.

Sheikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works, died when a glider crashed into a lake near the Sidi Mohammad Bin Abdullah Dam near Rabat.

Funeral prayers will be offered at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque after Asr prayers in Abu Dhabi after the arrival of Sheikh Ahmad's body.

The Ministry of Presidential Affairs announced a three-day mourning period starting from Wednesday during which flags will fly half mast.

Sheikh Khalifa will receive condolences at Al Mushrif Palace after the burial of the deceased. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
