Amman: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (UAE RCA) distributed clothes on the Syrian refugee children in the UAE camp in Jordan in the framework of the first phase of Ramadan campaign launched by Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to clothe one million needy children around the world.

The campaign announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, yesterday began distributing clothing to underprivileged children in Bosnia as part of the first phase of the campaign, which include 23 country.

Dr. Mohammad Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary General of UAE RCA, said that they began the campaign according to a plan prepared by the UAE Red Crescent, in coordination with its offices and embassies in the beneficiary countries.

Al Falahi stressed that the Syrian refugee children will be the first beneficiaries of the campaign in order to highlight the plight of thousands of Syrians children.

The Syrian refugee children in Jordan and their families expressed their happiness with the move, which highlights the keenness of the UAE government and people to ease their suffering due to the difficult circumstances they are experiencing.

The campaign will continue until September 19th, which falls on UAE's Humanitarian Work Day, and marks the 9th anniversary of the death of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Every year in Ramadan, Sheikh Mohammed launches a number of humanitarian and social initiatives that are compatible with the values of the Holy Month of Ramadan and noble authentic traditions that encourage goodness and giving, such as the "Noor Dubai", "Dubai Cares" and "Family Village for Orphans" and other initiatives. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
