The UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, UNRWA, discussed here yesterday the humanitarian situations of the Palestinian refugees in their camps, which lack the basic human needs. This was announced during a meeting held here yesterday in the presence of San'a Darwish Al Kitbi, RCS Secretary General, Dr. Saleh Moussa Al Ta'ei, Director of RCS department for Relief and Emergency and Andrew Whitely, UNRWA's Director of External Relations Department. The two sides agreed to continue their joint humanitarian efforts to improve the situation of the refugees and to provide their basic needs. San'a Al Kitbi said that the UAE RCS would extend support to UNRWA humanitarian programmes to the advantage of the Palestinian refugees, further stating that the UAE RCS is in the process of implementing new relief humanitarian programmes in Palestine. The statement was released on the occasion of the Wives of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to UAE's donation of an amount of Dh 200.000 in support of the RCS humanitarian programmes in the field of child and woman care.
