UAE's Ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammed Sultan Saif al Suwaidi, joined the Indonesian Minister of Labour Force and Displaced persons, to lay a foundation stone for the construction of a village, made up of 50 houses, a mosque, a school and a clinic in Shirbon, in West Java. The project, which is being sponsored by the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, is to provide shelter for internally displaced Indonesians.

In a key note address during the short ceremony which was attended by a number of Indonesian officials and large gathering of Indonesians, the Indonesian Minister thanked President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE people in general, as well as the RCS and its Chairman, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their support for the people of Indonesia.
