In an effort to boost its humanitarian relief operations in war-ravaged Lebanon pursuant to the ceasefire in the southern areas, the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) is intensifying its activities to help displaced Lebanese citizens who are returning to their homes. RCS aims to improve the humanitarian conditions of those who were forced by the Israeli aggression to leave their homes and villages to other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, RCS's humanitarian posts on main highways to Lebanese cities continue the distribution of relief packages to war victims. RCS's delegated team to Syria has distributed 10000 food package to displaced Lebanese citizens who are on their way to their homes.

RCS is carrying out its operations in close cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross Society which enjoys considerable capabilities in the humanitarian filed and with the Syrian relief agencies, mainly the Syrian Red Crescent Society, said Dr. Saleh Al Tae'i, Director of Relief and Emergency Department at RCS. UAE embassies in Lebanon and Syria are facilitating all UAE relief efforts in Syria and Lebanon. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
