UAE RCS disburses relief aid in Kabul

Kabul - The UAE Red Crescent Society (UAERCS) disbursed relief and charitable aid in Kabul, Afghanistan within the framework of human and development role to enhance lives of the poor and needy there.



Abdullah Khalifa Al Murshidi, Director of the UAERCS in Kabul said that financial and food supplies were divided between the poor and needy in different areas of the country, whereas the agency distributed orphans' payments that reached $120.000 and was given to 535 orphans.



He pointed out that the RCS also distributed 500 school bags to students all over the country, digged 110 wells, and is building Maryam Ahmed Abu Ghannoum's mosque with a total cost of US$30.000, in addition to a number of relief operations and constructional projects. Al Murshidi noted that work has been done in Sheikh Zayed City that was built with a total cost of $4 million, and will be opened in a short period of time. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
