The UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS has distributed more relief assistance to the Afghan refugees in its refugee camp here. The distribution of the relief items, which include food items and clothing, is aimed at bringing smiles to face of the refugees on the occasion of the Eid Al Fitr and to enable them withstand the looming winter. The latest gesture is by the instructions of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and with the personal supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who is also the Chairman of the RCS. The latest campaign marks the completion of the first phase of the RCS refugee camp in this border town, which as at now has 600 tents, accommodating more than 2000 refugees, while the second phase, which has just began, will, upon completion, enable the RCS to accommodate more refugees, until it reaches its target of 40,000 refugees.
