UAE RCS medical team to visit Yemen

An International medical team from the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, will leave here on Friday to Yemen to conduct a number of open-heart surgery operations for heart patients in Yemen in cooperation with the Italy-based San Donanto International Medical Group and Yemen's Ministry of Public Health.



In a statement during a press conference held here today, RCS Board Chairman, Khalifa Nasir Al Suwaidi, said that the RCS medical team will be soon be leaving to Yemen on a humanitarian mission, during which the team will conduct a number of surgery operations. He said this is to bring hope to poor sick persons who could not afford to travel abroad for treatment.



He said the RCS will continue to make initiatives to reach out to the poor and the needy. This, he added, had been the policy of the RCS since it was set up in accordance with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who remains committed to

assisting all brothers and friends in distress, and through the continuous follow up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who, he said, has put on all efforts to see to the successful implementation of the RCS' programmes.
