UAE RCS offers more aid to Iraqis

Baghdad - The major relief campaign being offered by the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, to Iraq began yesterday distribution of relief supplies to the most needy category for this assistance. Ali Ahmed bin Shumail Al Kabi, Director of the UAE RCS office in Iraq said to the correspondent of the Emirates News Agency, WAM, in Baghdad that the campaign in the coming days will focus on the most needy people, especially orphans, elderly people and handicapped.

The Director of the UAE RCS office in Baghdad further added that the UAE RCS has distributed over the last two days, 450 food parcels and blankets to the orphans and widows in Baghdad in coordination with Omar Al Mukhtar Charity Organisation. He also appreciated the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in assisting the Iraqi people in a bid to alleviate their sufferings. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
