UAE RCS opens hospital in Kabul

Kabul - The UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, yesterday inaugurated the Red Crescent Hospital here after it was renovated and rehabilitated at the cost of Dh1.7 million paid by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President's wife and Chairwoman of the UAE General Women Union, GWU. Abdullah Mohammed Al Mahmoud, RCS Project's Manager, said that the opening of the hospital was in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.



In a statement during the opening, he said that the renovation of the hospital was also instructed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and RCS Chairman. He added that the RCS implemented a number of projects in Afghanistan at the tune of Dh70 million, while it allocated Dh10 million for the construction of Sheikh Zayed City in Kabul. A number of senior Afghani officials attended the opening ceremony. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
